IIT Delhi students have created history by securing both the Men’s Swimming Championship and the Water Polo Championship at the 40th Inter-IIT Aquatics Meet hosted by IIT Kharagpur.

The Swimming team finished with 51 points and 14 medals, while the unbeaten Water Polo team capped off its campaign with a dominating 16–5 victory over IIT Madras in the final.

The Water Polo team’s achievement also marks its third consecutive appearance in the Inter-IIT final, underlining the consistency and competitive standard maintained by the team over the years.

Adding to the achievement, Rachit Atul Rambhia, General Secretary, Board for Sports Activities (BSA), IIT Delhi, was named the Best Water Polo Player of the Tournament.

This success is the result of the collective effort of the athletes, coaches, support staff, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to support the teams throughout the tournament.

The 40th Inter-IIT Aquatics Meet was held from 30th September to 5th October 2026.
