Materials Science and Engineering Dept. at IIT Delhi Hosts Training Program on ‘Polymer Science and Technology’ for IOCL Executives

New Delhi: A two-week training program on "Polymer Science and Technology" specifically designed for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) commenced at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi, on August 27, 2024,

The training program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals and advancements in polymer science and technology, as well as current trends and future prospects. The training program organised by the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi, is sponsored by the IOCL.

The program was jointly inaugurated by IOCL officials, including Mr. Dhananjay Sahoo (Chief General Manager, Petrochemicals) and Mr. Sumit Basu (Chief General Manager, Petrochemicals), alongside IIT Delhi’s Dean R&D, Prof. Naresh Bhatnagar. The inauguration was attended by other distinguished faculty members and participants.

The distinguished guests highlighted the importance of such courses and encouraged participants to come up with novel products and research ideas based on their learning during the program.

Program Coordinator Prof. Bijay P. Tripathi, DMSE, IIT Delhi, said that this intensive program will cover a wide range of topics, including polymer science, processing, product design, recycling, biopolymers, and troubleshooting.

“The aim is to provide the necessary knowledge and skills across broad areas of polymer science and technology, enabling these executives to identify challenges and assist in troubleshooting day-to-day problems faced by the polymer industry. We look forward to a fruitful and engaging program that will foster innovation and enhance expertise in polymer science and technology”, said Prof. Bijay P. Tripathi.
