CRF, IIT Delhi organises DST- STUTI Workshop in Collaboration with NIT Warangal

IIT Delhi and NIT Warangal jointly organised a seven-day training event, Synergystic Training Programme Utilising the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI) (funded by DST, GOI), on research and development (R&D) equipment from 11 April to 17April, 2023 at IIT Delhi Sonipat Campus.
The programme organised by the Central Research Facility (CRF), IIT Delhi, was aimed at providing information on the principles, instrumentation, and applications of advanced research equipment. The training programme included lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on sessions on various R&D equipment for scholars from different disciplines. It also covered analytical instruments, characterization techniques, and advanced microscopic facilities. The programme witnessed participation from various institutions across the country. The training sessions were conducted by experts from IIT Delhi and industry who possess extensive experience in handling and operating R&D equipment.
The participants were given theoretical knowledge and practical training on various equipment such as Mass Spectrometry, ToF-SIMS, Thermal Analysis Techniques, X-ray diffraction, XPS, SAXS,Transmission Electron Microscopy, PPMS, etc. In addition to this, participants of the workshop also got the opportunity of attending practical sessions on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy, Confocal Microscopy, FACS, Rheometry etc.
Prof. J. S. Rana, Prof. Biotechnology, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), currently discharging the responsibilities of registrar at NIFTEM, Sonepat, inaugurated the programme on 11th April 2023 and briefed the participants about the significance of the R&D equipment. The programme was organised under the able guidance of Prof. Sameer Sapra, Head CRF and PI, SATHI as well as Convener of the event. Dr. Bhupender Singh, Principal Technical Officer and Coordinator of the program played a major role in smoothly conducting the one week training programme.
Dr. Bhupender Singh, NP Singh, Dr Veer Singh, Prof. Marshal Dhayal, Dr. K. Srinivas, Prof. Nirat Ray, Dr Aditi Manna and Prof. Ratnamala were the key speakers during STUTI training programme . Dr Veer Singh, Dr Atul Kumar, Dr Sonali, Mr Kshitij, Dr Molla Mehandi Hassan, Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr Dinesh Kumar, Dr Vikash Kumar, and Ms Anjali Kapoor gave demonstrations cum hands-on training sessions on different days.
Vice Chancellor, Prof Rajindrakumar Anayath from DCRUST was the Chief Guest in valedictory function of STUTI training held on 17 April, 2023. He addressed and gave certificates to the participants and also interacted with them. Prof. Sameer Sapra too addressed the gathering through virtual mode and threw light on CRF and SATHI facilities. Dr. Bhupender Singh presented vote of thanks. The motivation, coordination and energy levels of the CRF team were exemplary throughout the 7 days training programme. Overall the STUTI training programme was a huge success and received an excellent feedback from the participants.
