The Bhagwan Birsa Munda Cell (BBMC) at IIT Delhi, in collaboration with the IIT Delhi Dance Club, organized a vibrant cultural evening to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas—an event dedicated to celebrating India’s tribal communities.

The event was graced by Prof. Arvind K. Nema, Deputy Director (Operations), along with Prof. S. Pradyumna, Associate Dean (Student Events), who attended as the Special Guest. Their presence added significance to the celebration, underscoring the Institute’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural diversity.

The evening began with a lively Bamboo Dance performance—a popular traditional dance from Mizoram, presented by students from Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. This was followed by an enthralling group presentation by Atulya Bharat, showcasing the unity in diversity of India’s cultural traditions through dance.

Students from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College presented a mesmerizing performance representing the rich traditions of Uttarakhand, Nepal, and Himachal Pradesh, which was followed by an Ethnic Walk highlighting the traditional attires, ornaments, and identities of various tribes from the eight Northeastern states, including Ladakh.

The celebration also featured an energetic Bodo tribal dance, a graceful Ladakh dance, and a captivating solo performance by a student from Ladakh. The event beautifully brought together diverse tribal cultures on one platform, emphasizing unity through shared heritage.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Vivek Kumar, Coordinator of the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Cell, IIT Delhi, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all performers, collaborators, and attendees for making the celebration a memorable tribute to India’s indigenous legacy.
