•    Anveshan witnessed participation of approx. 550 students from across eleven Indian states

New Delhi: The office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives at IIT Delhi successfully conducted Anveshan 2025: Innovation and Exploration Across Disciplines, a unique initiative aimed to reach out to college and university students across India showcasing the Institute’s strengths in addressing societal challenges across domains of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Management. The event organised on March 22 witnessed participation of approx. 550 students from across eleven Indian states and 1 Union Territory at IIT Delhi’s Hauz Khas campus for an exciting half-a-day filled with activities including expert talks, panel discussions, demonstrations by student technical clubs, and engaging interactions with the IITD community. Anveshan is a part of IIT Delhi’s initiative called Experience IIT Delhi, through which the Institute opens its doors to the community.

Through Anveshan, IIT Delhi provided a discussion and discovery platform for students to help them explore their interests in higher studies and research. The interaction session with IIT Delhi faculty, students, and staff members helped them gain insights into the student's life at IIT Delhi. The day also marked the start of IIT Delhi’s portal for submission of applications for PG admission at the institute for the upcoming session.

Speaking during the inaugural session, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, elaborated upon the PG and PhD ecosystem at IIT Delhi. He emphasized the need for programs like Anveshan for helping students make informed choices. Addressing the students, he stated, “Today, we are giving you glimpses of the groundbreaking work happening at IIT Delhi, across various domains—artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, sustainability, energy, healthcare, and more... We want to be a higher educational institution that not only learns but also innovates and contributes to solving real-world problems… We would like you to seek IIT Delhi by choice… Bharat today has a new confidence, and it is you who will drive this transformation... We are happy to have you at Anveshan, and we look forward to welcoming you back as future Masters or PhD students at IIT Delhi.”

Prof Narayanan Kurur, Dean Academics, IIT Delhi, said, “We are excited to launch a new academic outreach initiative, Anveshan, that gives undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to experience our diverse educational offerings firsthand. This immersive program allows participants to engage with faculty, explore academic resources, and gain valuable insights into the vibrant campus community.”

Key Highlights of Anveshan 2025

● Ten parallel interactive sessions by IIT Delhi faculty, offering deep insights into cross disciplinary cutting-edge research
● Departmental stalls showcasing academic programs and key research areas.
● Engaging demonstrations by Makerspace and student-led clubs, providing hands-on learning opportunities at IIT Delhi.
● One-on-one interactions with faculty, students, and staff representatives from Academic Office to address                       students’queries.

Through the initiative of Experience IIT Delhi, the Institute proactively connects with students (school, college and university) and the community at large. Its constant endeavour to bridge its academic excellence and cutting-edge research with societal challenges, is a humble attempt to give back to the society.
