नई दिल्ली: भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान दिल्ली (आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली) ने एक नई पहल के रूप में दीपक राघवन फैमिली फाउंडेशन एक्सेलरेटर कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की है, जिसका उद्देश्य संस्थान के अनुसंधान पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को मजबूत करना और उच्च क्षमतावान युवा संकाय को और अधिक सक्षम बनाना है। इस कार्यक्रम को आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली अक्षय प्रबंधन फाउंडेशन द्वारा संचालित किया जाता है और इसे प्रतिष्ठित अल्युमनी डॉ. दीपक राघवन द्वारा स्थापित गया है।

इस पहल का मुख्य उद्देश्य 45 वर्ष या उससे कम आयु के संकाय सदस्यों के लिए पाँच वर्षीय एंडोव्ड चेयर प्रोफेसरशिप है। यह चेयर एक समर्पित अनुसंधान निधि, अनुसंधान स्टाफ तक एक्सेस और अन्य संसाधनों के माध्यम से समर्थित होगा, जिससे संकाय सदस्य एक मजबूत, स्वतंत्र शोध कार्यक्रम विकसित कर सकेंगे और साथ ही आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली में शिक्षण और अकादमिक नेतृत्व में भी योगदान दे पाएंगे।

यह कार्यक्रम एक शोध अनुदान राशि प्रदान करता है जिसका उपयोग उपकरण, सॉफ्टवेयर, प्रयोग, फील्डवर्क, प्रोटोटाइप विकास के लिए तथा पोस्टडॉक्टोरल शोधार्थियों और शोध कर्मचारियों की नियुक्ति में किया जा सकता है। यह कार्यक्रम उद्योग और बाहरी संस्थानों के साथ साझेदारी को भी प्रोत्साहित करता है, जिससे शोध को वास्तविक जीवन में लागू किया जा सके, पेटेंट प्राप्त किए जा सकें, और नई तकनीकों का विकास हो सके।

इसके अतिरिक्त, इस पहल में प्रत्येक पाँच वर्ष में एक पूर्ण वित्तपोषित पीएच.डी. फेलोशिप भी शामिल है, जो एक डॉक्टोरल स्कॉलर को चेयर प्रोफेसर के साथ मिलकर काम करने का अवसर प्रदान करती है। यह फेलोशिप भारत और विदेशों में होने वाले सम्मेलनों में भागीदारी करने में सहायता प्रदान करती है, जिससे युवा शोधार्थियों को वैश्विक अनुभब प्राप्त करने का अवसर मिलता है।

एक्सेलरेटर कार्यक्रम के बारे में बात करते हुए प्रो. रंगन बनर्जी, निदेशक, आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली ने कहा कि “आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली में देश के चुनिंदा श्रेष्ठ शोधार्थी और शैक्षणिक प्रतिभाएँ हैं। इस तरह की पहल हमारे संकाय सदस्यों को और आगे जाने में मदद करती है और यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि भारत आगामी वर्षों में शोध और नवाचार क्षेत्र में प्रतिस्पर्धी बना रहे।”

इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली शैक्षणिक नेतृत्व को बढ़ावा देने, उच्च प्रभाव वाले शोध को आगे बढ़ाने और निरंतर संस्थागत और परोपकारी समर्थन के माध्यम से वास्तविक दुनिया की चुनौतियों का समाधान करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को मजबूत करता है।

यह पहल दीपक राघवन फैमिली फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक और मैनहटन एसोसिएट्स के सह-संस्थापक डॉ. दीपक राघवन और शिक्षा, शोध और नवाचार में आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली की उत्कृष्टता को मजबूत करने के लिए दीर्घकालिक परोपकारी पूंजी जुटाने का कार्य करने वाले आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली अक्षय प्रबंधन फाउंडेशन के साझा दृष्टिकोण को दर्शाती है।

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched the Deepak Raghavan Family Foundation Accelerator Program, a new initiative aimed at strengthening the Institute’s research ecosystem and enabling high-potential young faculty. The programme is facilitated by the IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation and has been instituted by distinguished alumnus Dr. Deepak Raghavan.

At the core of the initiative is a five-year Endowed Chair Professorship for faculty members aged 45 and below. The Chair will be supported through a dedicated research fund, access to research staff, and resources that allow the faculty member to build a strong, independent research programme while contributing to teaching and academic leadership at IIT Delhi.

The programme offers a flexible research grant that can be used for equipment, software, experiments, fieldwork, prototype development, and hiring postdoctoral researchers and research staff. It also encourages collaboration with industry and external institutions, supporting the translation of research into real-world applications, patents, and new technologies.

In addition, the initiative includes a fully funded PhD fellowship once every five years, enabling a doctoral scholar to work closely with the Chair Professor. The fellowship supports conference participation in India and abroad, helping young researchers gain global exposure.

Speaking about the accelerator program, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, said, “IIT Delhi has some of the best researchers and academic talent in the country. Initiatives like this program help our faculty take their work to the next level and ensure that India remains competitive in research and innovation in the years to come.”

Through this programme, IIT Delhi reinforces its commitment to nurturing academic leadership, advancing high-impact research, and addressing real-world challenges through sustained institutional and philanthropic support.

The initiative reflects the shared vision of Dr. Deepak Raghavan, founder of the Deepak Raghavan Family Foundation and co-founder of Manhattan Associates, and the IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation, which works to mobilize long-term philanthropic capital to strengthen IIT Delhi’s excellence in education, research and innovation.
