IIT Delhi and LG Electronics Partner to Drive Innovation in Sustainable Home Appliance Technologies

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and LG Electronics have entered into a strategic partnership to advance research and innovation in sustainable home appliance technologies. The collaboration was recently formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IIT Delhi, aiming to bring together academic excellence and industrial expertise to address future challenges in home living and sustainability.

The MoU signing ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, and Mr. Hyun Uk Lee, Executive Vice President from the R&D Center of LG Home Appliance Solution Company.

This partnership will focus on joint research projects, co-development of technologies, and the exchange of knowledge in areas such as smart appliances, energy-efficient solutions, and customer-focused product concepts.

“We are excited to partner with one of India’s premier institutes,” said Hyun Uk Lee, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to fostering open innovation and developing future-ready technologies that align with our vision for a more sustainable and connected living experience.”

As part of the engagement, IIT Delhi researchers presented ongoing and proposed projects aligned with LG’s vision for sustainable innovation. The LG delegation also visited select research laboratories at the institute to explore avenues for deeper collaboration.
