IIT Delhi Organises CSR Conclave 2026 on Environment & Sustainability; Showcases Technology Solutions Developed by its Researchers

                          Conclave brings together industry, CSR leaders, academia and government to foster strategic partnerships

New Delhi: IIT Delhi successfully organized the CSR Conclave 2026 on the theme "Environment & Sustainability," bringing together over 245 leaders from industry, CSR foundations, public sector enterprises, government organizations, NGOs, and academia to strengthen collaborations for sustainable development through research and innovation.

The conclave, hosted by the Corporate Relations Office, IIT Delhi, served as a premier platform to showcase the Institute’s research capabilities, facilitate industry-academia engagement, and encourage CSR investments in technology-driven solutions addressing national priorities.

The conclave also marked the launch of two significant initiatives by the Corporate Relations Office, viz., CSR Project Compendium, featuring high-impact research and societal projects seeking CSR support and CSR Impact Stories, showcasing successful CSR-funded initiatives implemented at IIT Delhi over the past few years and their measurable impact. Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, launched the CSR Compendium and Impact Stories booklet in the presence of Prof. Vivek Buwa, Dy. Director (S&P), IIT Delhi; Prof. Jayant Jain, Dean of Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi; and Prof. Ashwini Agrawal, Dean of Research and Development, IIT Delhi.

(Technology Demonstration at the CSR Conclave- From Waste to Wealth: Circular Bioeconomy through Algal and Microbial Biotechnology)

A major highlight of the event was a research & innovation showcase, where IIT Delhi faculty presented cutting-edge technologies and research aligned with the Government of India's strategic priority areas, including Agriculture and Rural Impact, Clean Energy Technologies, Sustainable Materials and Circularity, Waste to Resource and many more areas related to the theme. These presentations demonstrated the Institute’s leadership in developing technologies that contribute to India's national missions and sustainable development goals.

The conclave featured an eminent panel of industry leaders representing leading organizations, who shared perspectives on advancing sustainability through responsible corporate action, ESG practices, clean technologies, and collaborative innovation.

Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, addressed the gathering by emphasizing on the critical role of research institutions and industry partnerships in addressing emerging environmental and societal challenges.

“India's journey towards sustainable and inclusive development requires strong partnerships between academia, industry, government, and civil society. At IIT Delhi, we are committed to developing technologies that address national priorities, and through strategic CSR collaborations, we can accelerate the translation of research into scalable solutions that benefit society,” Prof. Rangan Banerjee said.

Recognizing the invaluable contribution of corporate partners, IIT Delhi conferred the CSR Excellence Awards on organizations that have made significant contributions towards advancing research, innovation, infrastructure development, and societal impact through CSR partnerships with the Institute.

The overwhelming participation from corporate leaders and CSR professionals underscored the growing interest in collaborating with IIT Delhi to develop impactful technology solutions for environmental sustainability and national development.
