BBMC, IIT Delhi Organises Special Plenary Session to Commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas

New Delhi: The Bhagwan Birsa Munda Cell (BBMC), IIT Delhi, organized a special plenary session on 14 November 2025 at the R&I Park to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. The event featured an inspiring address by Shri Vibhu Nayar, Senior IAS Officer and Former Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, on the theme “Leadership: David vs Goliath – The Leadership Mystery.”

In his thought-provoking talk, Shri Nayar explored the deeper meaning of leadership and emphasized the importance of vision, conviction, and moral courage in overcoming significant challenges. Drawing inspiration from the life and legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, he highlighted how true leadership is grounded in integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to justice. His insights offered valuable guidance on navigating adversity and leading with purpose.

The plenary session was followed by an engaging interaction with students and faculty, focusing on issues related to leadership, tribal empowerment, and nation-building. As part of the cultural segment, Ms. Rigzen Wangmoo, a first-year student from Ladakh, presented a traditional Ladakhi dance, showcasing the diversity and cultural vibrance of India’s tribal and indigenous communities.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the distinguished speaker, participants, and organizers. The event ended with an informal interaction over high tea and snacks.

The session received an enthusiastic response from the attendees, especially students, who expressed renewed motivation and commitment toward community development. The successful conduct of the event reaffirmed BBMC’s dedication to promoting tribal empowerment and fostering meaningful dialogue at IIT Delhi.
