New Delhi: After two years of no fun with the robots of DD-Robocon physically due to COVID-19 pandemic, they are back in action. IIT Delhi is proud to host the 2022 edition of the DD-Robocon at New Delhi's Thyagraj Stadium in association with Prasar Bharati on July 16 and 17, 2022.

An inter-institute competition, DD Robocon, is backed both technically and event managed by two of IIT Delhi’s not-for-profit companies i.e. Foundation for Smart Manufacturing (FSM) and I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), Technology Innovation Hub of the Institute, as knowledge partners.

Forty-three teams, shortlisted from 80+ teams from as many engineering institutes, which registered for DD-Robocon 2022 in two stages, are set to take part in the 21st version of the Robocon.

About 750+ participants are joining the event. This year's DD-Robocon is special as the event will be followed by its international show, i.e., ABU-Robocon 2022, on August 21, 2022, with teams from 12 countries participating.

"Lagori", a game which many of us might have played in our childhood, is the theme of DD-Robocon 2022.

The event at Thyagraj Stadium will be attended by Mr. Mayank Agrawal, CEO of Prasar Bharati; Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, and Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director of Delhi School Board.

More than 150 professors, technical staff, and students from IIT Delhi and its neighbouring colleges (JNU, Jamia Milia, AKG College, GL Bajaj) have volunteered to organize this mega event. One can join the event live through DD-Sports on both 16th and 17th July from 9:30 am to 7 pm.

Doordarshan Robocon India 2022 (DD Robocon) is a National Competition organized by IIT Delhi for Asian-Oceanian college robot competition, organized internationally by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). In the competition robots compete to complete a task within a set period of time. The ABU Robot Contest or ABU-Robocon was founded in 2002.
