New Delhi: IIT Delhi has partnered with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the University of Exeter, UK, for a training program in Sports Technology, Machine Learning and Data Analytics on its campus. The program emphasizes experiential learning through direct engagement with advanced sports technologies used in contemporary research and high-performance environments.

The training program from March 2-6, 2026, will be an intensive in-person training and upskilling opportunity for sports coaches, physios, fitness professionals, sports scientists, and entrepreneurs who would like to learn about advanced technological and analytics tools for sporting performance assessment and enhancement through interventions in nutrition, physiology, biomechanics, and VR.

Top faculty from IIT Delhi, University of Exeter, scientists and practitioners from the Sports Authority of India and industry professionals from leading sporting academies and organizations will provide training to the participants.

The program would include sessions on Foundations of Sports Technology & Sensing; Nutrition, Biosensing & Inclusive Sports Technology; Sports Wearables and Neural Technologies; Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Sports; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Sports and Applied Data Science in Sports.

Participants will get the opportunity to take part in guided hands-on demonstrations covering motion capture and biomechanical modelling, wireless EMG and neuromuscular assessment, wearable sensor technologies, virtual reality–based simulation training, and data analytics and machine learning workflows. The sessions will be led by technical partners from the industry, providing participants with skills that can directly applied in their practice.

“This unique programme is the first of its kind in the country that brings leading experts from IIT Delhi, University of Exeter and SAI designed to enable participants to move beyond theoretical understanding and develop practical insight into technology-driven approaches for sports performance assessment and enhancement,” said Prof. Biswarup Mukherjee (IIT Delhi), Coordinator, Training Program.

नई दिल्ली: आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली ने अपने परिसर में खेल प्रौद्योगिकी, मशीन लर्निंग और डेटा एनालिटिक्स में एक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम के लिए भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण और एक्सेटर विश्वविद्यालय, यू.के. के साथ साझेदारी की है। यह कार्यक्रम समकालीन अनुसंधान और उच्च-प्रदर्शन वातावरण में उपयोग की जाने वाली उन्नत खेल प्रौद्योगिकियों के साथ प्रत्यक्ष सहभागिता के माध्यम से अनुभवात्मक अधिगम (सीखने) पर जोर देता है।

2 से 6 मार्च, 2026 तक आयोजित होने वाला यह प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम खेल प्रशिक्षकों (coaches), फिजियो, फिटनेस पेशेवरों, खेल वैज्ञानिकों और उद्यमियों के लिए एक गहन व्यक्तिगत प्रशिक्षण एवं कौशल-विकास का अवसर होगा। यह कार्यक्रम उन प्रतिभागियों के लिए विशेष रूप से उपयोगी है, जो पोषण, फिजियोलॉजी, जैव-यांत्रिकी और वी.आर. के माध्यम से खेल प्रदर्शन के आकलन और उन्नयन हेतु उन्नत तकनीकी एवं विश्लेषणात्मक उपकरणों के बारे में सीखना चाहते हैं।

आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली और एक्सेटर विश्वविद्यालय के शीर्ष संकाय सदस्य, भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण के वैज्ञानिक एवं विशेषज्ञ और प्रमुख खेल अकादमियों और संगठनों से जुड़े उद्योग पेशेवर प्रतिभागियों को प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करेंगे।

कार्यक्रम में खेल प्रौद्योगिकी एवं सेंसिंग की आधारभूत अवधारणाएँ; पोषण, बायोसेंसिंग एवं समावेशी खेल प्रद्योगिकियों; खेल वियरेबल्स और न्यूरल प्रौद्योगिकियाँ; खेलों में ऑगमेंटेड रियलिटी (AR) और वर्चुअल रियलिटी (VR); खेलों में कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता और मशीन लर्निंग; तथा खेलों में अनुप्रयुक्त डेटा विज्ञान पर सत्र शामिल होंगे।

इस कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभागियों को मार्गदर्शित व्यावहारिक प्रदर्शन सत्रों, जिनमें मोशन कैप्चर और जैव-यांत्रिक मॉडलिंग, वायरलेस ई.एम.जी. (EMG) और न्यूरोमस्कुलर मूल्यांकन, वियरेबल सेंसर प्रौद्योगिकियाँ, वर्चुअल रियलिटी- आधारित सिमुलेशन प्रशिक्षण, तथा डेटा एनालिटिक्स और मशीन लर्निंग वर्कफ़्लो शामिल होंगे, में भाग लेने का अवसर मिलेगा। इन सत्रों का संचालन उद्योग के तकनीकी भागीदारों द्वारा किया जाएगा, जिससे प्रतिभागियों को ऐसे कौशल प्राप्त होंगे जिन्हें वे सीधे अपने कार्य-क्षेत्र में लागू कर सकेंगे।

प्रो. बिस्वरूप मुखर्जी, प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम  समन्वयक, (आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली) ने कहा कि “यह विशिष्ट कार्यक्रम देश में अपनी तरह का पहला कार्यक्रम है जिसमे आई.आई.टी. दिल्ली, एक्सेटर विश्वविद्यालय और भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण (SAI) के अग्रणी विशेषज्ञों को एक साथ लाता है। इसे प्रतिभागियों को सैद्धांतिक समझ से आगे बढ़कर खेल प्रदर्शन के आकलन और उन्नयन के लिए प्रौद्योगिकी-आधारित दृष्टिकोणों की व्यावहारिक समझ विकसित करने में सक्षम बनाने के उद्देश्य से डिज़ाइन किया गया है।”
