India Rankings 2020 (NIRF): IIT Delhi bags 2nd rank in engineering category; secures place among top three institutes in overall category

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has bagged 2nd rank in the engineering category in the India Rankings 2020 announced by Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of Human Resource and Development today.
IIT Delhi has also secured place among top three educational institutes in the country in the overall category.
Speaking on the achievement, Prof V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi said, “IIT Delhi is happy to be recognized for its efforts. It will always strive to do better. We also want to see our technologies help solve problems in the society and we wish to see our students become socially conscious citizens.”
IIT Delhi has maintained its ranks in Engineering and Overall category this year.
In the engineering category, the institute has scored highest (of the top three institutes) on two parameters i.e. Research and Professional Practice and Outreach & Inclusivity.
India Rankings are based on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which was launched in 2015 by the MOE, Government of India.
