Kiran Bedi

PhD: 1973

Kiran Bedi is the Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry, India. She is the first woman to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). She worked with the United Nations in New York as the Police Advisor to the Secretary General and in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. In 1994, she was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Nehru Fellowship. A nonfiction feature film on her life entitled Yes, Madam Sir has been produced by Megan Doneman. The film was adjudged the “Best Documentary” at Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Sachin Bansal

Sachin Bansal is the former Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Flipkart. Within a decade of its starting up, the company acquired about 40% of market share of India’s e-commerce Industry and inspired many young entrepreneurs to experiment in that space. In the year 2018, Flipkart was acquired by Walmart for USD 16 billion.

Raghuram Govind Rajan

B.Tech: 1985

Rajan is the former Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund, former Vice-Chairman of the Bank for International Settlements and the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. In the year 2012 Rajan was appointed as chief economic adviser to India’s Ministry of Finance. He is the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Rajan is the recipient of the inaugural Fischer Black Prize (year 2003 ). In 2016, he was named by Time (magazine) in its list of the ’100 Most Influential People in the World’.

Jayant Sinha

Jayant Sinha is an Indian politician who is the Member of Indian Parliament and formerly the Minister of State for Finance and the Minister of State for Civil Aviation in the Government of India. He has also been a Member of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation and the Standing Committee on Finance. Prior to this, Jayant has been a partner with McKinsey & Company and Omidyar Network.

In 2005, The Economic Times ranked Warrior as the 11th Most Influential Global Indian. In 2018 she was also featured among "America's Top 50 Women In Tech" by Forbes

He is a co-founder of Sun Microsystems, the founder of Khosla Ventures and a leading venture capitalist of world. He is a member of the 2018 Midas List (Forbes). In 2014, Forbes named him amongst the 400 richest people in the world.

A.J. Paulraj

PhD: 1973

A.J. Paulraj is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. During his 30 years in the Indian (Navy) (1961-1991), he founded three national level laboratories in India and headed one of India’s most successful military R&D projects APSOH sonar. He received over a dozen awards in India including the Padma Bhushan.

In 1999, Paulraj founded Iospan Wireless Inc - which developed and established MIMOOFDMA wireless as the core 4G technology. Iospan was acquired in by Intel Corporation in 2003. In 2004, Paulraj co-founded Beceem Communications Inc. The company became the market leader in 4G-WiMAX semiconductor and was acquired by Broadcom Corp. in 2010.

Paulraj has won over a dozen awards in the US, notably the 2011 IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal and the 2014 Marconi Prize and Fellowship, both top awards for telecommunications technology pioneers. He is a fellow of eight national engineering/ science academies including those in the US, China, India and Sweden. He is a fellow of IEEE and AAAS. Paulraj is an ISI Thomson most highly cited researcher with two textbooks on MIMO.

R S Pawar

R. S. Pawar was awarded Padma Bhushan by the President of India in 2011. He is the Chairman and Co-Founder of NIIT Group that encompasses NIIT Limited, a leading Global Talent Development Corporation, and NIIT Technologies Limited, the software and services arm. Pawar is a member board of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), setup by NASSCOM. He has also served as a member of the Prime Minister’s National Council on Skill Development and has served the Prime Minister’s National Task Force (1998) commissioned to develop India into an IT Superpower. An advisor to the Hunan Province of China, he has also been a member of PIAC (Presidential International Advisory Council) of the Government of South Africa for IT. He is on the Board of Governors of the Indian School of Business.

He is currently serving as the Chairman of CII National Committee on Education and also served as the Chairman of the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) and as the Chairman of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad.

Pawan Sinha is a tenured Professor of Computational and Visual Neuroscience in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He is a recipient of the Pisart Vision Award from the Lighthouse Guild International, the PECASE–the highest US Government award for young scientists, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship in Neuroscience, the John Merck Scholars Award for research on developmental disorders, the Jeptha and Emily Wade Award for creative research. He has been inducted into the Guinness Book of Records for creating the world’s smallest reproduction of a printed book.

Patanjali Keswani is the Chairman and Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels and Red Fox Hotels. Lemon tree hotels owns and operates 50 hotels[9] with over 5000 rooms in 31 cities of India. Keswani was honored by the N.C.P.E.D.P. (National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People) with the Shell Helen Keller Award in 2010 for offering opportunities to physically disabled Indians. Keswani is also the Chairman of the Skills Council for Persons With Disability (SCPwD). He is also a member of the Sector Skills Council for Hospitality, Travel and Tourism (NSDC) and the Sector Mentor Council for the Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Industry (Ministry of Labor and Employment). Keswani was also a member of the University Grants Commission.
